CWC PHILANTHROPY MISSION STATEMENT
I. Mission
The mission of the Carolina Women's Club (CWC) Philanthropy Committee is to bring members together in meaningful service to support women and children in need throughout the greater Charlotte area.
The Committee is committed to creating volunteer opportunities that allow every CWC member to participate easily, successfully, and meaningfully in projects that positively impact our community.
Specifically, the Committee seeks to:
a. Bring members together in small groups to volunteer with CWC-approved nonprofit organizations.
b. Support women and children identified as being in need through agencies serving the greater Charlotte area.
c. Partner with local 501c 3 non profit organizations that offer volunteer opportunities requiring no specialized training or personal expense, allowing members to simply "Sign Up & Serve" on either a one-time or ongoing basis through the CWC website.
Committee Liaison Requirement
Each nonprofit organization approved by the Executive Board shall have at least one designated CWC member serving as its liaison. The liaison is responsible for coordinating volunteer opportunities, attending monthly Philanthropy Committee meetings, and managing communications related to the organization, including volunteer registrations, newsletter articles, and website updates, under the direction of the Vice President of Philanthropy.
II. Committee Responsibilities
In support of its mission, the Philanthropy Committee shall:
a. Sponsor two to four collection drives each year to benefit CWC-approved philanthropy organizations through member donations.
b. Coordinate fundraising events, in partnership with the CWC Social Committee, to benefit the Executive Board-approved philanthropic organizations, including Safe Alliance and Sterling Math and Science, unless otherwise designated by the Executive Board.
c. Present at least one annual philanthropy program focused on women's health or related community issues, currently including The Pink Bow Campaign.
