CWC PHILANTHROPY:
WOMEN WORKING TOGETHER
FOR A GREAT LOCAL CAUSE
I.
It is the express goal of the Philanthropy Committee to invite all members of Carolina Women’s Club to participate easily and successfully in projects that make a difference to the community around us. The mission of the Philanthropy Committee is to:” Bring the members of Carolina Women’s Club together to support women and children in need in the greater Charlotte area.”
Specifically, we seek to:
a) Bring women together in small groups to volunteer at CWC approved non-profit projects.
b) Support women and children who are identified through greater Charlotte area agencies as in need.
c) Serve local 501(c) 3 organizations that do not require extra training or cost to participate, but that CWC members can simply “Sign- up & Serve” on a one time or more frequent basis through the CWC website.
Please Note: All organizations approved by the Executive Board shall have at least one CWC member as a liaison to create volunteer events, attend monthly Philanthropy meetings, and process everything from registrations to newsletter articles to website information, under the direction of the Vice President of Philanthropy.
II.
In addition, it is the mission of the Philanthropy Committee of Carolina Women’s Club to:
a) Sponsor two to four collection drives a year to support existing CWC Philanthropy organizations through member donations.
b) Hold a fundraiser for the approved organizations of Safe Alliance and Sterling Math and Science, both in conjunction with the CWC Social Committee, unless other organizations are designated by the Executive Board.
c) Offer one philanthropy meeting on women’s health issues annually (currently, The Pink Bow Campaign).
